Reports of Phone Harassment and Fraudulent Bank Charges by a company calling themselves APEX Services.

With increasing frequency, my company has received phone calls and emails from people complaining about phone harassment and fraudulent bank changes from a company calling themselves APEX Services.

Let me assure you that the calls and unauthorized bank account withdrawals are not from my company.

My company is APEX Media Solutions - and is a small business that services corporate accounts with website, video and multimedia production.  My company does not conduct any telemarketing – and most certainly does not make unauthorized bank withdrawals!

Because of the number of contacts I have received regarding this issue, I was compelled to address it on this web page.

Mistaken Identity
The reason for this mistaken identify appears to be the internet search engines. If you do a Google search for “APEX Services” – the first result is a page on my website that lists the services of APEX Media Solutions. People then use the contact information on my website – incorrectly assuming that they’re contacting the organization that either called them or made unauthorized withdrawals from their bank account.

About the Scam
Here is what I know of the scam – based on email and calls I have received, as well as some research on the internet.

The agents from APEX Services call people and tell them they have won a digital camera – and in some cases, a free vacation. The agent then mentions that a small shipping and handling fee must be debited from their bank account – and requests the person’s bank account information.

For people that refuse to give their bank account information, the agents get very aggressive and abusive. For people that have given their account information, they soon find that money is being withdrawn from their account – and never receive the promised digital camera or vacation coupons.

More Research
Recently, I did a Google search for “APEX Services Digital Camera” and found an interesting website. The page I found was http://www.whocalled.us/lookup/8008887890

This page details numerous complaints about “APEX Services” and their “free” digital camera scam. Several people posting on this site have uncovered information about “APEX Services”.
